After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude in 1974 from Brandeis University in Massachusetts, Richard Wexell earned his Juris Doctor at The George Washington University Law School in 1977. That year, he was admitted to the Virginia State Bar, allowing him to practice before the state courts of Virginia. He was admitted to practice in the District of Columbia in 1980.
Richard Wexell began his law practice in Fairfax City in 1981. Since that time, he has focused his practice on family law matters, representing clients in and around Northern Virginia. His firm has represented clients not only in the trial courts of Northern Virginia but also on appeal to the Court of Appeals of Virginia.
